Who can apply for a Divorce in Singapore?

You will need to fulfil certain criteria before the Singapore Family Court will allow you to file for Divorce in Singapore.

You can apply to get a Divorce in Singapore if you or your spouse satisfy the following conditions:

1. You or your spouse is domiciled in Singapore at the time of start of Divorce proceedings. A Singapore Citizen is regarded, until otherwise proven, to be domiciled in Singapore. The criteria of domicile extend beyond simple residency – you are regarded as being domiciled in Singapore if you consider Singapore your home and intends to reside in Singapore indefinitely.
2. You or your spouse lived in Singapore for at least 3 years immediately before the start of Divorce proceedings in Singapore.
